Code of Conduct

Summary

This Code of Conduct encourages good behaviour in our open source project. We invite participation from many people and foster a welcoming, professional environment free of harassment. Participants who observe conduct issues should report them to conduct@flylang.org.

Expected Behaviours

  • Assume positive intent. Community members should assume good faith in others' communications.
  • Respect participants. Disagreements are fine — be persuasive, not bitter.
  • Welcome new members. Everyone is new to every project once.
  • Be kind to beginners. We were all beginners once.
  • Consider your impact. Balance self-interest with communal interest.
  • Use words carefully. Irony and sarcasm are easily misread in text.
  • Leave with class. You are free to fork the code — your exit should not be dramatic.

Unacceptable Behaviours

  • Bigotry. Insults or slurs based on identity, background, or protected class.
  • Insults. Demeaning remarks about a person's lifestyle or practices.
  • Doxing. Revealing private information without explicit permission.
  • Intimidation. Threats of violence or intimidation of any kind.
  • Unwanted sexual content.
  • Sustained disruption of discussions.

Reporting

Report misconduct to conduct@flylang.org. Your report should include:

  • Your preferred contact information (anonymous reports cannot be processed).
  • Names of those involved.
  • Your account of what occurred and, if possible, links to public records.
  • Any additional context.

After review we will decide on a response: warning, ban, or removal from the project. Reports are kept confidential to protect victims.
